Who we are
At Operation House Blanket, we craft and donate blankets to individuals and families in need across Eagle County, Colorado. Our goal is to provide warmth, comfort, and care to those facing cold nights or difficult times through the donation of 800 blankets in 2025. Through community support and volunteer efforts, we create blankets that offer more than just protection from the elements—they bring kindness, hope, and a sense of security to those who need it most. If you or someone you know needs a blanket have them contact us or The Community Market.
How it started
OHB originated from a vision I had for my retirement years. My husband and I raised a daughter with medical disabilities, which exposed us to numerous needs during our extensive time spent in hospitals and various facilities. Our daughter received a Project Linus blanket while she was a patient in a transplant unit in Wisconsin, inspiring both her and me to assist with the local chapter in Madison, WI. Subsequently, we introduced Project Linus to Eagle County. However, we soon realized that our mission extended beyond merely providing support to ill children. While volunteering at The Community Market, we identified economic challenges faced by the local population. This awareness ultimately led to the establishment of Operation House Blanket. We launched our 501(c)(3) organization to offer warmth and comfort to anyone experiencing difficult times.

Founder
Betsy Krebs McGuire, I concluded my corporate career in 2018. Following my retirement, my objective was to contribute to those in need. I had previously participated in the WI Project Linus group after witnessing the support they provided to my daughter and other children facing health challenges. For the past three decades, I have had a passion for quilting. In 2019, my youngest daughter and I established an online quilting business. White Farm Creations has proven to be a success in numerous respects. With the assistance of many volunteers and an exceptional board of directors, we aim to expand Operation House Blanket to its fullest potential.

I'm excited to be working with this great project!
With my background in tax and accounting, I had the opportunity to work with some wonderful 501c(3) organizations in the Madison, WI area. I hope to bring my experience to this organization and help out where I can.
After retiring, my husband and I moved to Alaska where I keep busy assisting several businesses with their accounting needs and making quilt tops for Betsy and Steph's White Farm Creations.
